 Sunday

Mighty ...

Mr. Schmid sleeps beneath his self-built three-cylinder Japan Diesel bike

Matthias B., our lightweight driver - no room for tent or sleeping bag ...

Ole, the elk, liked the Tauerntreffen (after having been on the Sölk last summer)

Looking down from the hut. This peace of road is the trickiest of all - with snow drifts, furrowed, often icy - and there is always a pedestrian, sledge, oncoming or stuck traffic to stop or at least bother you. Our Yorkshire boys got up - after trying ten times, they happily did a brilliant eleventh ride up to their accommodation.

Close encounters.
John "Mr. Engelhart" Stanley told me, what he liked most about our Rallye: a proper ride where you can get to know a country and its people.

Above: the toll hut, your first test. If one can simply drive away uphill, he/she stands good chances of getting up to the meeting ...

Left: "Traktor" Prietz found no challenge with his Duodrive-Sidecar. So he towed the occasional tobogganist.

Sunday: time for talks and photographs, again ...

Hatari was provided to Falk by Motoflot-Michi as replacement vehicle for his Ural - thats what we call good service !

Koarrl and his "Auntie Jawa"

Children love that: Riege washing dishes, 3D - just hover the mouse pointer over it.
Thanks to Koarrl for the pictures!

Another nice setup, made by our Englishmen

Left: self made strap-on spikes: "well, it worked out"

Andys Honda, talking to Michaels XL 500 from Regensburg, Germany (above)

Andy Gower came from North Yorkshire on his Honda C 90 - including Camping gear. He wrote us:

"Last year I visited the Elefantentreffen, but this year would like something different. I was destined for the Primustreff in Alta near the Nordkapp, Norway but due to the fjordline ferry being in dry dock was unable to go. By coinsidence i have found others from Yorkshire are visiting the Tauerntreffen, I will have to travel alone because I am on a Honda c 90 so I doubt they will be able to keep up on their BMW's.
I am setting off on sat 24 jan, I hope to make it for the following weekend. C90's are not fast ... "

Andy is on our hero list for 2006, definitely.

Make your own gear:

Assembling a heated vizer from a broken hairdryer ...

Frozen ground: Even those mighty poles had to give up.
What worked? 100 mm construction screws, and a 12V powered screwdriver.

Volkmar "Traktor" P. from Röttenbach/Germany

Volkmar came with his dog.

Miscellanious ...

A snow chain made by Hubert Staudacher

Above: lots of self made snow chains were to be seen - here a solution made from a car chain by Koarrl.

Lower Austria

Andreas P. and his Zündapp

Bad Tölz, Germany

Snow chains, self-made, by father and son Jaud on their solo bikes

South Austria

Riege and his SR500 (above), and right with Uwe on his bike with the special name ("Knepta" is what his kids said to his motorcycle, trying to say "Dnepr").

Uwe can drive ANY sidecar.

Achims Moto Guzzi

Thöny on her MZ "Cassiopeia" near the toll hut

Breakdowns and Repairs

Wheel bearing broken (replacement on board)

Our AIA philosopher came by car because his Jawa had serious problems. This was convenient sometimes.

Some did not make it home ...

Right: Keksis BMW-combination, getting hauled away ...

It was not a good day for Keksi, really ...

Below you can find some more nice pictures. made by Tom D.

Those were the times: everything OK on the way TO the TT, near the Czech border.

Below: Stove Showdown. Kesis Enders Stove was beaten by several minutes by Toms Russian army equipment.
As stated above: It was not a good day for Keksi, really ...

Home again

Coming home after another flat tire, Erich was fallen asleep. Again, he did not say a word to me on the whole weekend, and had to be carried around all the time.

Where will this end?

Greetings!
Andreas, der motorang

+++ Attention - we had to tighten the rules! If you want to attend in 2007, you should care soon enough ... +++
